Good American Family Trailer Launch

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Good American Family, an eight-episode series inspired by the true story of Natalia Grace, will premiere on March 19. The show, previously titled Orphan, stars and is executive produced by Ellen Pompeo.

The series revolves around a Midwestern couple who adopts a child with dwarfism, only to suspect she may not be who she claims. As the parents raise her alongside their three biological children, unsettling questions arise about her age and past.

According to creator and executive producer Katie Robbins, the narrative is told from multiple perspectives, addressing themes of bias and trauma. “This compelling drama is inspired by the disturbing stories surrounding a Midwestern couple who adopts a girl with a rare form of dwarfism,” Robbins stated.

As the couple defends their family against what they believe to be a threat from their adopted daughter, she contends with her own past while the story unfolds in both tabloids and the courtroom.

The series features a strong supporting cast, including Imogen Reid, Dulé Hill, Christina Hendricks, Sarayu Blue, and Jenny O’Hara in recurring roles. Liz Garbus directed and executive produced the pilot, with additional executive producers including Sarah Sutherland, Andrew Stearn, Dan Spilo, Niles Kirchner, and Mike Epps.

The first two episodes of the series will launch simultaneously, followed by weekly episodes. Good American Family is produced by 20th Television.
