Goran Ivanisevic Stefanos Tsitsipas Coaching

HALLE, GermanyGoran Ivanisevic has officially joined Stefanos Tsitsipas‘ coaching team as the Greek looks to regain form during the ATP Tour’s grass-court season. The announcement came after Tsitsipas’ practice session on June 16, 2025, at the Terra Wortmann Open.

Ivanisevic, a former World No. 2 and 2001 Wimbledon champion, expressed confidence in Tsitsipas’ potential. With Tsitsipas currently ranked No. 25 in the ATP rankings, Ivanisevic believes the 26-year-old belongs in the Top 10. “He is for me a Top 10 player any day,” Ivanisevic told ATPTour.com. He acknowledged that Tsitsipas has faced challenges recently but emphasized the importance of patience in their journey together. “It’s a long process, but he’s a great player with many great victories,” he added.

As Tsitsipas prepares for his first match on Monday at the German ATP 500 championship, he enters the tournament with an 18-11 record for the season, including a title in Dubai. Ivanisevic highlighted the similarities between their temperaments, stating, “Greek and Croatian are pretty similar. He’s very aggressive, which I like.” He sees working with Tsitsipas as a unique challenge and looks forward to assisting him in enhancing his game.

Despite Tsitsipas’ modest grass-court record of 22-17, Ivanisevic remains optimistic. He believes mental blocks have hindered Tsitsipas’ performance on the surface. “Grass doesn’t forgive you anything,” Ivanisevic explained. “If you get frustrated, it shows. You have to be nice to the grass.”

Tsitsipas’ campaign at Halle marks both a new chapter in his career and a chance to improve his grass-court skills with Ivanisevic’s guidance. As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on whether this pairing can reignite Tsitsipas’ path to the upper echelons of tennis.
