Gotham Tv Awards 2025 Ceremony Winners

NEW YORK – The second annual Gotham Television Awards took place on June 2, 2025, at Cipriani Wall Street, where top talents in television were honored. The event marked a significant milestone for the awards, which began last year as a celebration of exceptional achievements in the television industry.

This year’s standout was the limited series “Adolescence,” which swept three awards, including Breakthrough Limited Series and Outstanding Lead Performance in a Limited Series for Stephen Graham. The series tells the poignant story of a teenage boy accused of murder and gained popularity quickly after its debut on Netflix.

Co-hosted by well-known figures, the evening featured lively acceptance speeches. Amy Sherman-Palladino, who received a Creator Tribute, emphasized the importance of supporting the arts during uncertain times. “God, please help everybody. Let’s make it survive,” she urged, invoking applause from the audience.

The Breakthrough Comedy Series award was claimed by “The Studio,” created by Seth Rogen and his team, while “The Pitt” won the Breakthrough Drama Series, with Noah Wyle representing the show to highlight its dedication to first responders.

In significant wins, Kathy Bates received Outstanding Lead Performance in a Drama Series for her role in “Matlock,” while Owen Cooper and Jenny Slate tied for Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Limited Series for their work in “Adolescence” and “Dying for Sex,” respectively.

Keith Bishop, who presented a tribute award during the night, reminisced about the impact of legendary actor Sidney Poitier on her career, further underlining the event’s themes of legacy and recognition.

As the television landscape continues to evolve, the Gotham Awards is poised to become a key indicator for the upcoming Emmy awards.
