Graham Norton Bids Farewell To Virgin Radio Weekend Show After 13 Years

Graham Norton, the renowned television and radio presenter, has announced his departure from the Virgin Radio weekend show after dedicating 13 years to the station. The 60-year-old host revealed the news during his recent broadcast, expressing his desire to reclaim his weekends.

During his programme, Norton shared with listeners that he had made the decision to step away from his weekend hosting duties at Virgin Radio, citing a shift in his personal life. He thanked his loyal audience for their support over the years.

Virgin Radio has confirmed that Angela Scanlon, an accomplished broadcaster and presenter, will take over the weekend show temporarily in the coming weeks. Norton will continue to be a part of the Virgin Radio family, making occasional appearances on the station.

Norton’s final weekend broadcast is scheduled for Sunday, marking the end of an era for his weekend radio presence. However, fans can still catch Norton on his popular television show, ‘The Graham Norton Show,’ airing on BBC One.

Having started his radio career at BBC Radio 2 in 2010, taking over the weekend slot from Jonathan Ross, Norton made the move to Virgin Radio in 2021. His transition led to Claudia Winkleman assuming his former position at BBC Radio 2.

Aside from his radio endeavours, Norton is a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, hosting shows like ‘Strictly Come Dancing‘ and being an integral part of BBC’s Eurovision coverage.
