MINNEAPOLIS — In a nail-biting finish, the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-125 on Saturday night at Target Center. The game, which featured 25 lead changes, was decided by a tiebreaking jumper with 18 seconds left.

Memphis’ star player scored 33 points, while Ja Morant contributed 12 points, including a crucial tying basket with 54 seconds remaining. Morant’s 11-footer ultimately secured the lead for the Grizzlies. On the Timberwolves’ side, Anthony Edwards scored a season-high 27 points, supported by Karl-Anthony Towns with 21 points and 15 from Edwards.

The game was tightly contested throughout, with neither team leading by more than six points. Memphis capitalized on 21 offensive rebounds, taking 108 shots compared to Minnesota’s 83. Rookie center had seven offensive boards, playing a pivotal role in the Grizzlies’ victory.

Minnesota’s three-game winning streak came to an end despite a strong performance. The Timberwolves turned the ball over 19 times, including a costly turnover in the final minute with the game tied at 125.

Memphis rookie was tasked with guarding Edwards for most of the game, holding his own defensively while adding 13 points. Meanwhile, Minnesota’s new-look starting lineup, featuring DiVincenzo and veteran coming off the bench, has gone 3-1 since coach Chris Finch made the adjustment.

The Grizzlies will next visit Houston on Monday, while the Timberwolves travel to Washington for their next game.
