Nba Game Overtime Thrilling Moments

Phoenix, Arizona – In an electrifying showdown on February 25, 2025, the Memphis Grizzlies triumphed over the Phoenix Suns 151-148 in overtime, marking a record-breaking 299 combined points scored, the highest in an NBA game this season.

The Grizzlies’ star player, Ja Morant, contributed significantly with 29 points and eight assists, providing a crucial assist for a dunk just 9.1 seconds prior to the end of overtime. Memphis closed the extra period with a dominating 7-0 run.

Throughout the match, both teams battled neck and neck, leading to 22 ties and 22 lead changes. The Suns maintained a tenuous lead during the third quarter, at one point going ahead by 10 points.

Morant, despite an off night with shooting only 1-for-12 from beyond the arc before the fourth quarter, rallied to score 15 points in the final quarter, including the last 11 for Memphis. His game-tying floater with 1.4 seconds left in regulation created the need for overtime.

“I know every shot I take won’t go in, but that don’t mean… once you miss one you stop taking them,” Morant said post-game. “Just continuing to shoot the ball. Shot it with confidence.”

On the opposing side, Suns’ Kevin Durant showcased exceptional skills with critical shots, including a jumper that put Phoenix ahead 148-144 with 1:17 remaining in overtime. Despite multiple attempts, he couldn’t secure any more points in the final moments.

Five Suns players scored at least 20 points, a feat not accomplished since November 10, 1990. Deandre Ayton led Phoenix with 28 points and 10 assists before fouling out, while other contributors included Devin Booker with 26 points and Chris Paul with 24 points and a season-high 11 assists.

This loss marks the Suns’ sixth in their last seven games, dropping them to four games under .500 and leaving them more than two games behind for the last play-in spot in the competitive Western Conference.
