Guerschon Yabusele Records Double-Double in 76ers’ Loss to Suns
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Guerschon Yabusele delivered a standout performance for the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, recording his second career double-double in a 109-99 loss to the Phoenix Suns. The 29-year-old forward scored 14 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and added one assist and one block in 36 minutes of play.
Yabusele’s double-double marked a significant milestone, with his first coming on Nov. 22 against the Brooklyn Nets. The French forward has been a consistent contributor for the 76ers recently, scoring in double digits in six of the last eight games. During this stretch, he has averaged 11.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.9 three-pointers, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 54.1% from the field and 42.9% from beyond the arc.
Despite Yabusele’s efforts, the 76ers struggled to contain the Suns’ offense. Phoenix’s balanced attack and strong defensive presence proved too much for Philadelphia, which fell to a 2-5 record in their last seven games. Yabusele’s performance, however, highlighted his growing role in the team’s rotation, particularly as a reliable scoring and rebounding option.
“Guerschon has been a bright spot for us during this tough stretch,” said 76ers head coach Nick Nurse. “His energy and versatility on both ends of the floor have been crucial. We’re looking for him to continue building on this momentum.”
Yabusele, who joined the 76ers this season after stints overseas and in the NBA G League, has emerged as a key contributor off the bench. His ability to stretch the floor with his three-point shooting and provide physicality in the paint has made him a valuable asset for Philadelphia. As the team looks to turn its season around, Yabusele’s development will be a storyline to watch.
The 76ers will aim to bounce back in their next game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, where Yabusele will look to extend his consistent run of form.
