Guntur Hosts Photo Exhibition Celebrating Kargil Vijay Diwas

On July 26, Guntur marked the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas with a significant photo exhibition organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhawan. This event honors the bravery and sacrifices made by soldiers during the Kargil War of 1999.

The three-day exhibition saw attendance from college students and NCC cadets, where Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi emphasized the importance of youth aiming high to drive India’s development by the centenary of Independence in 2047. She reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by soldiers to maintain peace in the nation.

Furthermore, Guntur East MLA Mohammad Naseer Ahmed drew parallels between the experiences of the Kargil War and life, highlighting that discipline and preparedness are crucial for success. The insights provided by the officials were a blend of historical acknowledgment and relevant life lessons.

NCC Group Commander Col. S.M. Chandrasekhar elaborated on the challenges faced by the Indian Army during the war in the high altitudes of Kargil. He noted that India has evolved its military capabilities, becoming a formidable force on the global stage.

During the event, Rajinder Chaudhary, the Additional Director General of PIB and CBC, outlined various programs undertaken by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting aimed at spreading accurate and important information to the public.

As part of the celebrations, various competitions including essay writing, elocution, quiz, and drawing contests were held in colleges, engaging students in honoring the sacrifices of their fallen heroes. The passion and enthusiasm of the NCC cadets were further showcased through a rally, which was flagged off by CBC Field Officer R. Ramesh Chandra and NCC officer Vijay Mohite.
