HanuMan vs Merry Christmas: Box Office Collection
HanuMan and Merry Christmas, two highly anticipated movies, have hit the box office on the same day, sparking a fierce competition for audience attention and box office success. The Telugu superhero film, HanuMan, directed by Prasanth Varma, features the talented Teja Sajja as the lead character. On the other hand, Merry Christmas, directed by the legendary filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, stars the dynamic duo of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi.
On the release day, HanuMan scored a remarkable ₹8.05 crore, with ₹5.89 crore from the Telugu version and ₹2.1 crore from the Hindi version. The film witnessed a significant surge on the second day, collecting ₹12.53 crore, including ₹8.4 crore from the Telugu version and ₹4.13 crore from the Hindi version. Moreover, the exclusive paid premiere for Telugu viewers garnered ₹4.15 crore on Thursday. With a gross box office collection of ₹14.05 crore in India and ₹9.45 crore from the overseas market, HanuMan stands tall with a total collection of ₹23.5 crore worldwide.
Merry Christmas, on the other hand, commenced its box office journey with a collection of ₹2.55 crore on the release day. Out of this, ₹2.3 crore came from the Hindi version, while the Tamil version contributed ₹22 lakh. The film is estimated to have earned approximately ₹6.05 crore after the second day, as per early estimates. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the streaming rights of Merry Christmas were sold to Netflix for an astonishing ₹60 crore, as reported in July 2023.
