Harshal Patel Joins Elite List of Players without IPL Titles Trio
Indian pacer Harshal Patel recently made headlines as he debuted for the Punjab Kings, marking his third franchise in the mega cricketing event, the Indian Premier League (IPL). The match, held at the Mullanpur stadium, saw Patel in top form from the start as he quickly claimed the prized scalp of Delhi Capitals‘ David Warner. He further solidified his performance by dismissing the Capitals’ skipper Rishabh Pant early in his stint for the Kings, demonstrating his worth for the new side.
Harshal Patel’s impactful bowling contribution played a pivotal role in Punjab Kings’ successful containment of the Delhi Capitals for the majority of the innings. However, Patel faced a slight setback as he conceded 25 runs in the final over, with Abishek Porel of the Capitals showcasing his prowess with two sixes and three fours, adding respectability to Delhi’s final tally.
The Kings managed to secure the victory by chasing down a total of 175 runs with relative ease, thanks to stellar performances from the English duo of Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone, who shone with the bat in hand.
Harshal Patel, by joining the Punjab Kings, has now become the thirteenth player to have played for all three IPL franchises – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Capitals (formerly Delhi Daredevils), and Punjab Kings (previously Kings XI Punjab), under the tag of being a part of the ‘holy trinity’ – the three teams existing since the inception of the IPL who have yet to secure a title win.
