Baltimore Weather Forecast May 2025

BALTIMORE, Maryland — A wet weather pattern is set to begin on Monday evening, continuing throughout the week. Meteorologists expect rainfall that could reach 1 to 3 inches before Saturday.

The weather will start off mostly dry on Monday, with cloudy skies and temperatures reaching the upper 70s. However, rain is forecasted to roll in late Monday night into Tuesday morning, resulting in a washout day on Tuesday with temperatures dropping into the low 70s.

Alena Lee, a local meteorologist, notes that Tuesday could bring light showers in the morning, but heavier rain is expected to arrive in the evening. “We might see some light sprinkles early on, but it will get significantly wetter as the day goes on,” Lee said.

As the week progresses, rain chances remain high. Wednesday is anticipated to include scattered showers, while conditions will be unsettled as thunderstorms may occur later in the week. Lee suggests that scattered storms could lead to localized flooding, particularly in lower-lying areas.

“We are monitoring rainfall totals closely. Some areas might see anywhere from 2 to 3 inches of rain by the weekend,” Lee mentioned. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for regions west of Washington, D.C., due to potential flooding risks.

While temperatures are expected to fluctuate throughout the week, they should warm back into the 80s by Thursday, aligning with Preakness weekend. Rainfall will vary across different regions, with some spots on the Eastern Shore also expecting significant rain.

Residents are advised to plan accordingly as conditions could change rapidly due to the unstable weather front.
