The 2024 Heisman Trophy ceremony is set to take place on Saturday, December 14, at 8 p.m. ET at the Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York City. The event will be broadcast on ESPN and will also be available for streaming on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
The finalists for this year’s Heisman Trophy were announced on Monday, December 9, during ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown. The four finalists are Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel, Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, and Miami quarterback Cam Ward.
Dillon Gabriel, a sixth-year senior, led the Oregon Ducks to a 13-0 season and a Big Ten Championship in their first year in the conference. He was named the 2024 Big Ten Offensive Player and Quarterback of the Year and set multiple NCAA records.
Travis Hunter of Colorado is attempting to become the second primarily defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy. He has been favored to win with odds of -2500 as of Monday evening.
Ashton Jeanty, the only finalist not from a Power Four conference, had a standout season at Boise State, rushing for 2,497 yards and 29 touchdowns. He is looking to become the first running back to win the Heisman since Derrick Henry in 2015.
Cam Ward, a senior quarterback from Miami, was named the 2024 ACC Player and Offensive Player of the Year. He leads the nation with 36 passing touchdowns and set several school records.
The Heisman Trophy ceremony will also feature a show highlighting the top 10 athletes who were considered for the award but did not make the final four. This show will air on ESPN at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, December 13.
