HMS Queen Elizabeth Sets Sail from Portsmouth After Intensive Training
The Royal Navy‘s flagship, HMS Queen Elizabeth, has departed from Portsmouth naval base following a brief but intensive period of training and maintenance. The 65,000-tonne aircraft carrier returned to Portsmouth on Friday after a 10-day training exercise with the Royal Air Force and personnel from Britannia Royal Naval College.
During its recent training, the HMS Queen Elizabeth engaged in various activities, including working with Chinook helicopters from the RAF‘s 7 Squadron. This training allowed the crew to practice different roles and participate in flight operations. The aircraft carrier also collaborated with the Type 23 frigate HMS St Albans as part of its Fleet Operation Sea Training.
The HMS Queen Elizabeth hosted visitors from Dartmouth college and conducted routine sea trials, ensuring the readiness and efficiency of its crew. This swift turnaround reflects the Royal Navy’s commitment to maintaining operational readiness and the versatility of its flagship.
The departure marks another significant deployment for the HMS Queen Elizabeth, highlighting its critical role in the Royal Navy’s maritime operations. The aircraft carrier’s capabilities and the training it has undertaken are crucial for the UK‘s naval defense and international cooperation.
