HOUSTON (May 15, 2025) – The Houston Dash open a two-game homestand at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, May 16 against Portland Thorns FC. The team will close the homestand the following weekend against Bay FC on Saturday, May 24.

The Dash return to Shell Energy Stadium after a 1-0 victory on the road against Seattle Reign FC. Forward Yazmeen Ryan forced a turnover that led to the only goal of the match. Ryan Gareis, a U.S. Women’s National Team forward, assisted rookie midfielder Maggie Graham, who scored her third goal of the season.

Gareis has now recorded assists in back-to-back matches, becoming the first Dash player to achieve this since Nichelle Prince in October 2023. The University of South Carolina alum is tied for the most assists in the league with three.

This season, Graham has already scored two game-winning goals, including one in a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Stars on March 23. Defensively, Abby Smith made her first appearance for the Dash and earned a clean sheet, finishing with one save and preventing scoring opportunities for the Reign.

Defender Katie Lind led the team in clearances and aerial duels during the match. Defender Natalie Jacobs also contributed, making her first start since March 28 and leading the team with five interceptions.

The Thorns arrive in Houston with a four-game unbeaten streak, including two wins and two draws. They recently secured a draw against San Diego Wave FC, with Jayden Perry converting a late penalty kick. Perry and Reilyn Turner both lead the Thorns with three goals each.

Last season, the Thorns won both matches against the Dash. However, Houston won the regular season series in 2023, including a victory at home on March 12. The Dash will travel to Portland for Decision Day on Nov. 2.

The Dash will host Bay FC on May 24, celebrating Kids Day, with tickets available on SeatGeek.

HOUSTON (May 13, 2025) – Houston Dynamo FC conclude a two-match homestand on Wednesday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m. CT against Minnesota United FC at Shell Energy Stadium, marking the team’s first midweek MLS matchup of the season.

This match will feature Half-Price Beer Night, offering fans half-price domestic bottled beers throughout the game.

The Dynamo have faced tough competition early in the season, with nine of their twelve opponents currently above the playoff line. The combined record of these opponents is 56-50-37.

Defender Franco Escobar will miss the match due to suspension, while defender Femi Awodesu is also sidelined after receiving a red card against Seattle Sounders FC. The Dynamo recently fell 3-1 to Seattle, with Awodesu scoring his first career MLS goal before his red card.

In addition to Awodesu, defenders Felipe Andrade and Pablo Ortiz made their MLS debuts in the same match. Andrade also scored during a 4-1 victory against Phoenix Rising FC in the U.S. Open Cup.

Next, the Dynamo will face Austin FC in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 on May 21, after which they will play FC Dallas on May 17. Minnesota currently sits second in the Western Conference with 22 points.
