Houston Dash Vs Racing Louisville Fc Soccer Match

HOUSTON (May 1, 2025) – The Houston Dash will conclude a two-game homestand on Friday, May 2, hosting Racing Louisville FC at 7 p.m. CT at Shell Energy Stadium. The match will feature the club’s annual Pups at the Pitch Night, presented by Chevron. The first fans to enter the stadium will receive a Jane Campbell bobblehead.

Last week, the Dash opened their homestand with a 1-0 win against Utah Royals FC. Midfielder Delanie Sheehan scored her first goal for the team, capitalizing on a clearance from the Utah backline with an impressive strike from outside the box. The Dash secured their second victory of the season and gained their first three points at home.

In that match, goalkeeper Jane Campbell achieved her second clean sheet of the season and the 40th of her career. She is only the second goalkeeper in league history to reach that milestone with a single club. Campbell made five saves against Utah, including a critical stop on a shot from Brecken Mozingo in the 72nd minute.

Offensively, forward Yazmeen Ryan was active, forcing two saves from Utah’s goalkeeper, and finishing with four crosses and seven recoveries. Ryan generated Houston’s first scoring opportunity in the opening minutes with a well-placed cross that narrowly missed reaching midfielder Maggie Graham.

Defensively, Paige Nielsen led the team with nine clearances. She, along with forward Messiah Bright, who had four interceptions, and Barbara Olivieri, who registered three interceptions in the second half, helped limit Utah to just two significant chances.

Racing Louisville FC enters the match following a dramatic 3-3 draw against Portland Thorns FC on Sunday. Louisville initially had a 3-1 lead but conceded a penalty kick that led to Portland’s equalizing goal. Savannah DeMelo opened the scoring for Louisville, with contributions from Emma Sears and Kayla Fischer.

Sears currently leads Racing Louisville with three goals this season and is tied for third-most shots on goal in the league. Defensively, Taylor Flint is tied for the most interceptions in league play, having recorded 16 so far this season.

After the match against Racing Louisville, the Dash will travel to the Pacific Northwest to face Seattle Reign FC on Sunday, May 11, at Lumen Field. Fans can follow the action live on NWSL+ and Paramount+ before the Dash return home on Friday, May 16, to host Portland Thorns FC.
