Huddersfield Town has officially announced the loan signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joe Hodge for the upcoming 2024/25 season. The 21-year-old midfielder, who is a product of the Manchester City academy, joined Wolves in 2021 and has made a total of 13 first-team appearances with the club.

Prior to his move to Huddersfield, Hodge spent half a season on loan at Queens Park Rangers. His transfer comes shortly after Huddersfield secured another signing, marking a significant addition to the team’s roster as they welcome their seventh summer signing.

Head coach Michael Duff expressed enthusiasm about Hodge joining the squad, indicating that Joe possesses unique talent as a midfielder, combining tenacity with strong technical abilities. He stated that Hodge’s skills will provide interesting options for the team.

Sporting director Mark Cartwright also emphasized the club’s longstanding admiration for Hodge, mentioning that there was considerable interest from other clubs, including those in higher divisions and international teams. Cartwright views Hodge as an essential addition to the team’s midfield lineup.

Hodge articulated his excitement about joining Huddersfield Town, expressing his eagerness to contribute to the team’s success and to gain as much playing time as possible. He is looking forward to making an impact on the pitch in the upcoming games.

Hodge is expected to play in a position that best suits his skills, potentially taking on the role traditionally held by Jonathan Hogg. With his pace and work rate, Hodge aims to solidify his presence in the defensive midfield area, demonstrating a readiness to adapt to the demands of the game.
