Madrid, Spain — Iga Świątek‘s match against Diana Sznajder is set to proceed at its originally scheduled time of 12 p.m. on April 29, 2025. Initial concerns arose due to a blackout affecting several regions including parts of Spain, Portugal, and France.

Canal+ Sport commentator Bartosz Ignacik reported that the blackout led tournament organizers to postpone all unplayed matches, including the highly anticipated matchup between Świątek and Sznajder at the WTA 1000 tournament. However, news emerged indicating that power had been restored at the Caja Magica venue.

“Power has returned to Caja Magica! For now, there are no indications that the start of the matches will be delayed,” Ignacik posted on X. An official statement from the organizers confirmed the return of electricity, stating that gates would open at 11 a.m., and matches will begin as planned.

“I also received confirmation from Iga’s team that power has been restored, and everything is proceeding smoothly. We remain optimistic that there will be no further interruptions, and the match will start at noon,” the update noted on the platform X.

Świątek’s match is anticipated to begin around 12 p.m., marking an exciting return to play at the tournament.
