The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) football playoffs are in full swing, with several key matches taking place over the weekend. Here are some of the notable scores and upcoming games from the second round of the playoffs.

In the Class 8A bracket, Frankfort (Lincoln-Way East) dominated Minooka with a 38-7 victory, while Lincolnshire (Stevenson) defeated Lombard (Glenbard East) 35-7. LaGrange (Lyons) had a convincing win over Downers Grove (South) with a score of 63-20. Other notable matches include Naperville (Central) beating Palatine (Fremd) 31-28, and Elmhurst (York) defeating Oswego (H.S.) 35-17.

In Class 7A, Bradley (B.-Bourbonnais) shut out Chicago (Whitney Young) 42-0, and New Lenox (Lincoln-Way Central) won against Hoffman Estates (H.S.) 49-21. Quincy (Sr.) also had a strong performance, beating Moline (H.S.) 44-14. Chicago (St. Rita) secured a 21-9 win over Villa Park (Willowbrook).

Class 6A saw several competitive matches. Antioch is set to face Cary (Grove) on Saturday, November 9, at 1:00 PM, while Wauconda will take on Belvidere (North) at the same time. Lake Forest (H.S.) will face Libertyville, and Burlington (Central) will play against Geneva later in the day.

In Class 2A, several games are scheduled for Saturday. Taylor Ridge (Rockridge) will face Farmington at 1:00 PM, and Elmwood [E.-Brimfield Coop] will take on Dwight [Dwight/Gardner-So. Wilmington Coop] at the same time. Seneca will face Bismarck (B.-Henning-Rossville-Alvin) at 2:00 PM, and Palos Heights (Chicago Christian) will play against Downs (Tri-Valley).

These matches will determine the teams that advance to the next round of the IHSA football playoffs, setting the stage for the quarterfinals.
