India Cricket Team Practice Session

NEW DELHI: Ahead of the second Twenty20 International (T20I) between India and Bangladesh at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has captured a humorous exchange between Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and the team’s new bowling coach, Morne Morkel. The footage, released on BCCI’s official social media platforms, shows a playful interaction that reflects the camaraderie within the Indian team.

The video includes a light-hearted moment where Suryakumar Yadav is seen humorously teasing Morne Morkel, a former South African cricketer who recently joined India’s coaching staff. Suryakumar asks Morkel in Hindi, “Kya hua? Bolo. (What happened? Tell me,)” to which Morkel struggles amusingly to respond in Hindi, prompting both individuals to burst into laughter. Morkel, smiling at the camera, jokingly requests, “You cut that out,” while Suryakumar continues laughing in the background. This interaction has highlighted the friendly atmosphere in the team ahead of the anticipated T20I clash.

Morne Morkel, who has recently assumed the role of India’s bowling coach, replaces Paras Mhambrey and joins an international coaching lineup that includes several notable figures. Morkel brings his experience from his playing days with the South African national team and has previously worked alongside Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir at the Lucknow Super Giants through the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is specifically tasked with guiding a young group of Indian pacers through the series against Bangladesh.

India has already secured a comfortable victory in the first match of this series held in Gwalior, winning by seven wickets. With this upcoming match in Delhi, the Indian team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, aims to continue their strong performance and secure the series with another victory against Bangladesh.
