India displayed a stellar performance against the defending champions, England, in the rain-affected match, securing a place in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup with a remarkable 68-run victory.

The Indian team will now face South Africa in the title-decider match on Saturday, looking to end their title drought.

Captain Rohit Sharma’s innings of 57 runs off 39 balls and Suryakumar Yadav’s powerful 47 runs led India to a total of 171 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.

Chasing the target, England faltered, getting bundled out for 103 runs in 16.4 overs. India’s spin duo Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel wreaked havoc, taking three wickets each.

Axar Patel was awarded the Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance, while Harry Brook emerged as the top-scorer for England with 25 runs.

India’s victory sets up an exciting final clash against South Africa, who are making their first appearance in the T20 World Cup title match. India’s last victory in this tournament came in 2007 under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
