India has stunned defending champions England in a thrilling T20 World Cup semi-final clash at Guyana National Stadium. The match, held in Providence, saw India emerging victorious with a commanding 68-run win over England.

Chasing a target of 172 runs, England faltered and was dismissed for just 103 runs in 16.4 overs as India’s spin bowlers, including Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav, wreaked havoc on the opposition’s batting lineup.

Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, played a pivotal role in the victory with a quick-fire half-century, scoring 57 runs off 39 balls. His partnership with Suryakumar Yadav, who contributed 47 runs off 36 balls, proved crucial in setting up India’s total of 171/7.

In the post-match presentation, Jos Buttler, England’s captain, acknowledged India’s superior performance, admitting that his team had let India score “25 runs too many” on a challenging pitch. He also regretted not utilizing off-spinner Moeen Ali in the bowling attack during India’s innings.

The defeat marks the end of England’s campaign in the T20 World Cup, signaling a shift in the white-ball dominance that the nation has enjoyed in recent times. India’s victory sets up a final showdown against South Africa at Kensington Oval in Barbados, where the two unbeaten teams will compete for the coveted trophy.
