India vs England: India Trusts Its Methods to Bounce Back in 2nd Test
Welcome to Sportstar’s LIVE coverage of the second Test match between India and England at Visakhapatnam. India has chosen to bat first in hopes of bouncing back after losing the first Test in Hyderabad.
This is not the first time India has found itself in a similar situation. They have previously gone 1-0 down at home and managed to make a successful comeback. India’s methods have proven to be successful in their own conditions, except for the occasional exception. They have the experience of overcoming such situations when they lost to Dinesh Chandimal’s exceptional performance in a series against England in the past.
England, on the other hand, is facing a unique opportunity to win in India. The absence of key Indian players like Virat Kohli and Jadeja, along with Mohammed Shami, has left the team in a challenging situation. England has won the first Test with their spin attack and will rely on their bowlers to perform again in the second Test, even though their experience is limited.
With Rohit Sharma leading the Indian team, they will miss the presence of Kohli and Jadeja in both batting and bowling. Kuldeep Yadav, who is a talented bowler, will replace Jadeja in the lineup. India also has the option to choose between Washington Sundar and Rajat Patidar in the batting order. England will make changes by bringing in James Anderson and Shoaib Bashir, replacing Mark Wood and the injured Jack Leach.
The Visakhapatnam pitch is expected to offer less turn initially, but with the sun baking down, the wear and tear of the pitch will come into play during the Test. Spinners will play a significant role, but the quicks can also make an impact, especially with the possibility of reverse swing.
India’s batters are planning to use the sweep and reverse sweep techniques more frequently to counter England’s spin attack. They have been practicing these shots and are ready to adapt their gameplay as per the team’s requirements.
India and England have had competitive matches in the past, and this second Test promises to be another thrilling contest between these two teams.
