India Vs Bangladesh Kanpur Test

On Day 4 of the second Test match between India and Bangladesh, held in Kanpur, the Indian cricket team shattered multiple records. The match, already delayed due to rain, saw an action-packed session from the Indian side as they took on Bangladesh’s bowlers with impressive results.

Bangladesh was bowled out for 233 runs in their first innings, with Mominul Haque scoring an unbeaten 107. India responded robustly by declaring their innings at 285 for eight, showcasing dominant performances from their batters. Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved a half-century by scoring 72 off 51 balls, while KL Rahul contributed with 68 runs off 43 deliveries.

Significantly, India broke the world record for the fastest team fifty in Test cricket, previously held by England. The opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma reached the milestone in just 18 balls, surpassing England’s record of 26 balls against the West Indies. During their aggressive start, Jaiswal hit three consecutive fours in Hasan Mahmud‘s opening over, followed by Rohit Sharma hitting two sixes in Khaled Ahmed‘s over.

The duo also set a new world record for the highest scoring rate in a Test partnership of at least 50 runs, achieving 14.34 runs per over during their 55-run stand before Rohit Sharma was bowled out by Mehidy Hasan. This broke the previous record held by England’s Ben Duckett and Ben Stokes, who had a run rate of 11.86 per over.

In addition, the Indian team established a new world record for the fastest team 100, reaching the figure in 10.2 overs and surpassing their own previous record set against the West Indies. They also secured the fastest 200 in Test history, achieving it in just 24.2 overs, beating Australia‘s previous record of 29.1 overs against Pakistan in 2017.

As the Test match heads into its final day, Bangladesh is trailing by 26 runs in their second innings, with a score of 26 for two. Despite the likelihood of a draw, India remains hopeful for a victory, showcasing relentless determination in their pursuit of success.
