Indiana Basketball Secures North Florida Transfer Jasai Miles

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana men’s basketball has officially secured a commitment from North Florida transfer guard Jasai Miles, who announced his decision on Instagram Wednesday night, as reported by Joe Tipton of On3Sports.com. Miles joins the Hoosiers after a standout sophomore season, where he averaged 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while starting every game for the Ospreys.
At 6-foot-6 and 205 pounds, Miles brings considerable size and versatility to the Indiana roster, which is undergoing significant changes under new head coach Darian DeVries. His impressive performance at North Florida included earning Third Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference honors for the 2024-25 season. His shooting statistics reflect his effectiveness, with 42.5 percent from the field and 33.5 percent beyond the arc.
During his sophomore campaign, Miles was the leading scorer for the Ospreys, scoring 10 or more points in 29 out of 32 contests, including a remarkable 23-game streak from late November to mid-February. He achieved a season-high of 30 points against Georgia Southern on December 7, marking one of only four such 30-point games in the program’s history, alongside him securing five double-doubles that season.
“I’m excited to join such a storied program as Indiana,” Miles said shortly after announcing his decision. “I believe this is the right step for my career and I can’t wait to contribute on the court.”
Miles’ commitment makes him the fifth transfer addition for Indiana this offseason, following transfers from Tucker DeVries (West Virginia), Conor Enright (DePaul), Reed Bailey (Davidson), and Lamar Wilkerson (Sam Houston). The Hoosiers are revamping their lineup as they look to strengthen their roster for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
In addition to Miles, Wilkerson’s commitment earlier this week drew significant attention. Wilkerson, who averaged 20.5 points and 4.0 rebounds during his time at Sam Houston, is expected to add even more scoring power to the Hoosiers’ backcourt.
Indiana’s projected roster now includes seven players, assuming all eligibility waivers are granted. This includes Miles and the previously mentioned transfers, along with incoming freshman Trent Sisley. While the team is gaining depth in the backcourt, there is still a pressing need for size in the frontcourt after the recent commitment of junior college center Emeka Opurum to Auburn.
As the Hoosiers continue to fill their roster, they are also exploring other potential recruits and maintaining a keen eye on the transfer portal with hopes of finding the right blend of talent to revitalize the program.
