The Indiana Fever are set to take on the Seattle Storm in a highly anticipated WNBA game at Climate Pledge Arena on Wednesday evening, with tip-off at 10 p.m. ET. This clash marks the first of four meetings between the two teams this season, promising an intense battle on the court.

Last season, the Fever outperformed the Storm in the WNBA standings with an 11-29 record, setting the stage for a competitive matchup based on previous encounters. In their last faceoff in 2023 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indiana secured a 90-86 victory, spearheaded by guard Kelsey Mitchell‘s impressive 36-point contribution.

Indiana recently faced the Connecticut Sun in a sold-out home game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, falling short at 88-84 despite strong performances from guards Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, who each notched 17 points and 5 assists. Forward NaLyssa Smith and centers Aliyah Boston and Temi Fagbenle also made notable scoring contributions, with Fagbenle recording her first double-double in the WNBA with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Seattle Storm, led by Skylar Diggins-Smith and WNBA All-Star Jewell Loyd, present a formidable challenge for the Fever. Notably, former Fever player Victoria Vivians has transitioned to the Storm this season, showcasing her skills alongside star forward Nneka Ogwumike. Ogwumike, despite limited playtime due to injury, has been a dominant force, averaging 22.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 3.5 steals in her two appearances.

Seattle’s lone victory thus far came against the Washington Mystics, with Loyd’s standout performance leading the charge with 24 points. However, a recent defeat to the New York Liberty at Barclays Center saw the Storm facing another setback, despite strong showings from Loyd, Ezi Magbegor, and Sami Whitcomb.
