BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana University is set to host Josh Harris, a transfer forward from North Florida, beginning Monday. Harris, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound player, averaged 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds in his freshman season. He started all 30 games and is looking to find a new team after entering the transfer portal shortly after North Florida’s season ended on March 2.

Harris, who hails from Pembroke Pines, Florida, impressed during his first year at North Florida, shooting 55.7% from the field and earning a spot on the Atlantic Sun Conference’s All-Freshman Team. He also recorded notable statistics, including a 13% offensive rebounding rate.

During his freshman season, Harris had multiple standout performances, including a career-high 31-point game against Queens on January 23. He effectively contributed to his team, tallying up to four double-doubles and reaching double figures in scoring 17 times throughout the year.

“One of the first qualities that stood out about Josh Harris was his simplified approach to the game,” said North Florida coach Matthew Driscoll upon Harris’s signing in November 2023. “He keeps the ball hot, sharing it and scoring from three or at the rim.”

Indiana’s new coach, Darian DeVries, is looking to build his roster for the 2025-26 season primarily through the transfer portal, and landing Harris would enhance the team’s frontcourt.

Harris plans to visit Miami later in the week after meeting with Indiana. He currently holds a four-star ranking and is considered the 162nd best transfer in the country according to 247Sports. With three seasons of eligibility remaining, Harris could potentially make a significant impact in Bloomington.
