Mlb Injuries Players 2025 Season

MIAMILos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Enrique Hernández will undergo an MRI on Tuesday for tightness in his left hamstring after leaving Monday night’s game against the Miami Marlins in the fourth inning.

"I got word that it was tight — whether it was a hamstring, abductor," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "He’s a guy that just doesn’t come out of games by way of injury. That’s a little concerning, given the person."

Hernández hit an RBI double for the Dodgers’ first run in the first inning and singled to right in the third. After the third inning, he was replaced by utility player Chris Taylor. Roberts noted that Hernández first felt the tightness after chasing a ball hit in the gap by Marlins player Luis Arraez in the third inning.

If Hernández is placed on the injured list, Roberts mentioned the team is considering calling up a player from the minors. "[Tuesday] will be telling," he said.

In his second season with the Dodgers, Hernández began the game with a team-leading nine home runs. His offensive performance has been impressive, boasting a .315 batting average with 34 RBIs and 10 doubles this season.

Meanwhile, in Milwaukee, star Houston Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez is heading to the 10-day injured list due to inflammation in his right hand. The injury caused the three-time All-Star to miss the last two games during the Astros’ weekend series against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The move has been made retroactive to Saturday. Houston recalled catcher Michael Salazar from Triple-A Sugar Land to fill Alvarez’s spot.

This season, Alvarez has batted .210 with a .306 on-base percentage, 3 homers, and 18 RBIs after a stellar 2024 season where he recorded a .308 average and a career-best OPS of .959.

In Atlanta, rookie left fielder Jake Callihan suffered a broken left forearm while attempting a sliding catch during a game against the Cincinnati Reds. Callihan will return to Cincinnati for surgery to repair the injury.

Reds manager Terry Francona expressed sympathy for Callihan, saying, "He’s such a good kid, you feel terrible for him. There’s no good way to explain it. The kid is running full blast trying to do everything he can to save runs."

The injury occurred in the third inning, when he was chasing a fly ball. Callihan briefly controlled the ball before crashing into the padded wall, causing the ball to fall from his glove.

The play concluded with a home run ruling by Braves player Matt Olson, who scored after the incident.
