Inter Miami CF fans will be disappointed as headlining football star Lionel Messi will be absent from the pitch during their upcoming clash against the Vancouver Whitecaps at the iconic BC Place stadium in Vancouver.

Vancouver Whitecaps CEO, Axel Schuster, confirmed the news that Argentine sensation Messi, along with teammates Sergio Busquets and Luis Suárez, will not be making the trip to Vancouver for the much-anticipated game.

Messi’s absence will undoubtedly impact the record-breaking crowd expected at BC Place with more than 50,000 tickets already sold for the match, setting a new club record.

Lionel Messi, who joined Inter Miami CF last summer following his legendary career at FC Barcelona where he led Argentina to World Cup glory, has been a standout player in the MLS.

Having represented Argentina in multiple World Cup campaigns, Messi’s presence on the field adds a different dimension to the game, one that many fans were eagerly anticipating.

Axel Schuster expressed the club’s keenness for Whitecaps to face opponents with the highest pedigree, hinting at the players of Messi’s caliber. He shared his disappointment at not being able to offer fans the Messi experience they were hoping for.

Dedicated to ensuring fans still enjoy the game, Whitecaps are proving complimentary meal combos and a generous 50% off all concessions to spectators below the age of 18.
