Inter Miami Rises in Latest Concacaf Club Rankings Amid Champions Cup Action

MIAMI – In a significant shakeup in the latest Concacaf Club Rankings, Inter Miami CF surged to third place following impressive performances in the Champions Cup. This change is part of a broader movement affecting six clubs within the top ten rankings as the tournament unfolds.
The Concacaf Club Rankings Index evaluates teams based on their performances in domestic league matches, regional cup competitions, and specifically the Concacaf Champions Cup. Points are awarded for victories, which can significantly influence a club’s rank.
Columbus Crew (1,252 points) and Club América (1,247 points) maintained their positions in the top two as both teams prepare for their Champions Cup Round of 16 matches. Inter Miami (1,225 points), however, showcased their potential by winning both legs against Sporting Kansas City, with Lionel Messi contributing opening goals in each game.
Following Miami’s rise, Cruz Azul and LAFC also improved their standings, securing fourth and fifth places, respectively. Cruz Azul now holds 1,224 points, while LAFC garnered 1,223 points to complete the current top five.
The top ten is rounded out by CF Monterrey (1,223), CF Pachuca (1,222), Tigres UANL (1,219), Deportivo Toluca (1,215), and Club León (1,214). Details about match timings for the Champions Cup and additional information can be found on the official Concacaf website.
In Central America, CS Herediano (1,170) has risen to the top among regional clubs, climbing to 30th overall after overtaking LD Alajuelense, now ranked 42nd. Alajuelense, the reigning Concacaf Central American Cup champion, is also set to kick off its CCC campaign in the Round of 16. Other notable movements include CD Olimpia (1,140) rising to 48th and Deportivo Saprissa (1,130) falling to 52nd.
Meanwhile, in the Caribbean, Cibao FC (1,065) continued to lead, climbing to 78th overall. Mount Pleasant FA from Jamaica sits at 89th, while Cavalier FC, also from Jamaica, follows closely at 96th. SV Robinhood of Suriname and Defence Force FC from Trinidad and Tobago round out the region’s top five.
Herediano has emerged as the standout performer this month, with a dramatic increase of 17 places following their Champions Cup performance. Puntarenas FC (1,061) experienced a rise as well, moving up 10 spots to 83rd overall. Other teams like Vancouver Whitecaps FC (1,180), Club Necaxa (1,172), and Real Estelí FC (1,072) also saw improvements in their rankings.
Notably, CS Herediano recorded one of the most significant upsets during the Champions Cup, defeating Real Salt Lake (1,166) 2-1 away from home. This victory not only elevated Herediano but also resulted in RSL’s considerable drop, falling 14 spots to 32nd overall.
