Inter Milan Extend Lead At The Top Of Serie A With Victory Over Juventus

Inter Milan strengthened their position at the summit of Serie A with a hard-fought victory over Juventus on Sunday. The match saw Federico Gatti score an unfortunate own goal in the 37th minute, effectively sealing the win for Inter.

The Nerazzurri dominated possession throughout the game, with their attacking line causing trouble for the Juventus defense. Marcus Thuram came close to doubling Inter’s lead but was denied by a last-ditch tackle from Gleison Bremer.

Juventus had their moments too, with Dusan Vlahovic missing a golden opportunity after a poor first touch. The Serbian striker also attempted an overhead kick from a corner but failed to trouble the Inter goal.

Inter Milan’s goalkeeper, Samir Handanovic, had a relatively quiet game as the home side’s defense remained solid. Juventus’ only shot on target was comfortably saved by Handanovic.

Nicolo Barella almost added a second goal for Inter with a powerful strike on the volley, but Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny made a fantastic save to keep his side in the game. Marko Arnautovic, who came on as a late substitute, also tested Szczesny with a close-range effort.

The victory sees Inter Milan extend their lead to four points at the top of Serie A, with a game in hand over second-placed Juventus and third-placed AC Milan.

Inter Milan’s next challenge will be an away game against Roma on Saturday. Having kept a clean sheet in all of their matches this season after the 75th minute, the Nerazzurri will be looking to maintain their defensive solidity and continue their impressive run to secure the Serie A title.
