Isaac Yiadom Returns to Saints with Multi-Million Dollar Agreement

TAMPA, Fla. — The New Orleans Saints are reportedly signing cornerback Isaac Yiadom to a new three-year deal worth $9 million, reuniting with the veteran defensive back after a successful 2023 season.
This signing, confirmed by Yiadom’s agency, comes after he previously signed with the San Francisco 49ers last offseason for $3 million. His new contract with the Saints includes nearly $5 million in guarantees.
Yiadom had a standout year in New Orleans during the 2023 season, stepping up as a starter due to injuries in the Saints’ defensive backfield. He registered a career-high 14 pass breakups, along with one interception and a fumble recovery, demonstrating his value on the field.
“It’s an incredible opportunity to come back to a team where I had such a successful year,” Yiadom said in a statement. “I’m excited to reunite with the Saints and help strengthen our secondary even further.”
After spending the 2023 season with the 49ers, where he appeared in 17 games and recorded 46 tackles and one interception, Yiadom’s return to New Orleans adds much-needed experience to the Saints’ secondary. The departure of Paulson Adebo, who left the Saints during free agency earlier this month, left the team with only two corners, Alontae Taylor and Kool-Aid McKinstry, who played over 150 defensive snaps last season.
Yiadom’s previous experience under Saints defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, which started during the 2023 season with the 49ers, allows him to bring a familiar presence to the defense.
“Having Isaac back on the roster is instrumental,” Staley said. “We value his skills and leadership in the locker room. This was an essential move.”
The contract marks an important investment in a position that has faced instability in the past few seasons. Yiadom, 27, is revisiting a franchise where he made a strong impression during his previous stint, and he aims to replicate his success in the upcoming season.
