Isaiah Wong Signs Two-Way Contract with Charlotte Hornets
Isaiah Wong, the 23-year-old guard, has secured a new opportunity in the NBA after signing a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets. This move was announced by ESPN‘s Shams Charania on December 1, 2024, according to Wong’s agent, Darrell Comer of Tandem.
Wong was originally drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the second round (25th overall) of the 2023 NBA Draft. He signed a two-way contract with the Pacers on July 3, 2023, but became a free agent on July 1, 2024. Following a brief stint with the Utah Jazz, where he was placed on waivers on October 8, 2024, Wong has been playing in the G League with the Salt Lake City Stars.
During his time in the G League, Wong has been impressive, averaging 24.1 points per game and ranking seventh in the league. This performance has caught the attention of the Hornets, who are looking to bolster their back court due to recent injuries.
Wong’s collegiate career was marked by his time at the University of Miami, where he played for three seasons and showed significant improvement each year. His senior season saw him average 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.
