Jacob Bridgeman Golf Swing At Valspar Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Jacob Bridgeman was awarded the King of the Florida Swing title for 2025 following a consistent performance across four significant PGA Tour events over the past month.

The announcement was made during a special committee meeting held on the Monday after the final event in the series, the Valspar Championship, where Bridgeman showcased impressive talent, finishing third overall.

Bridgeman’s performance included a second-place tie at the Cognizant, a T50 at Bay Hill, a T63 at The Players, and a commendable third-place finish at Valspar, demonstrating his ability to compete at a high level consistently.

“Winning this title means a lot to me,” said Bridgeman during a phone interview from Houston, Texas. “It’s great recognition and motivation to keep pushing forward.”

Sepp Straka, Jacob Bridgeman, Shane Lowry, and Max McGreevy were the only players to make the cut in all four Florida events. However, the committee ultimately chose Bridgeman for the award, emphasizing the importance of recognizing emerging talent.

“There’s something special about Jacob’s game and his potential for growth,” commented a committee member. “He is not just a talented player; he brings an exciting style to the course that captivates fans.”

Bridgeman’s swing has drawn attention for its fluidity and form, garnering praise from both amateurs and professionals alike. At 25 years old and standing 5-foot-10, he is seen as a promising figure in the world of golf.

Despite some challenges including missing cuts, Bridgeman persevered through the competitive landscape. Kim’s experience in the previous tournaments laid the foundation for a successful showing during the Sunshine State series.

“I faced some ups and downs, but every round is a learning opportunity,” Bridgeman said. “Driving home after the Players, though sick, helped put everything in perspective. Sometimes, it’s just about getting back to the basics.”

Bridgeman has also expressed aspirations to qualify for the Masters, recognizing that a win would solidify his spot at Augusta National next month. “I’m not exactly sure what it takes, but I know winning is key,” he said, hinting at his determination.

As Bridgeman prepares for upcoming tournaments, his commitment to improvement remains evident. He and his fiancée, Haley Farmer, who is an oncology researcher, are also planning a wedding for December in Greenville, N.C., creating an exciting year ahead.

Following his recent successes and newfound recognition, Bridgeman is ranked 70th in the world and is expected to be a name to watch closely as he moves further into the golf season.

In the spirit of tradition, the committee aims to continue highlighting fresh talent as seen in Bridgeman’s journey. With the golf community abuzz over the 2025 Masters on the horizon, all eyes will soon be on the next generation of players.

“We’re proud of Jacob and look forward to seeing where this journey takes him,” a committee member stated. “He embodies what this award is about.”
