Jaden Rashada Sacramento State Football Transfer

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Jaden Rashada, a former quarterback for Arizona State and Georgia, announced on Friday that he will transfer to Sacramento State. The news comes as Rashada seeks a fresh start after spending time in the NCAA transfer portal since January.

Rashada, who did not play during the 2024 season at Georgia, is expected to enroll at Sacramento State by the end of May, according to a source. He was unable to secure playing time due to being behind starter Carson Beck and other quarterbacks on the depth chart.

The 19-year-old quarterback began his collegiate journey at the University of Florida, where he was a highly touted recruit. In December 2022, he signed a four-year, $13.85 million contract with a Florida NIL collective, but the deal fell apart, leading him to file a lawsuit against the university and its staff for alleged broken promises.

After his stint at Florida, Rashada transferred to Arizona State, where he briefly served as a starter. However, an injury sidelined him for most of the 2023 season. He did manage to play in three games, completing 44 of 82 passes for 485 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Rashada’s arrival at Sacramento State is expected to generate excitement for the Hornets, who have recently hired Brennan Marion as their head coach. Marion comes with experience as a former offensive coordinator at UNLV and aims to elevate the program’s performance.

Sacramento State is also in the process of seeking NCAA approval to move from FCS to FBS status. Rashada, now rated as a three-star transfer, will have three years of eligibility remaining as he prepares for this new chapter in California.
