Jadon Sancho has made his return to the Manchester United first team after holding discussions with manager Erik ten Hag. Sancho, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, had not featured for United since August of the previous season.

The 24-year-old forward trained with the first team after meeting with Ten Hag earlier this week, indicating a potential reintegration into the squad. Sancho will sit out the pre-season friendly against Rosenborg but is expected to be available for upcoming fixtures, including the clash with Rangers at Murrayfield on July 20.

Sancho’s absence from the United squad followed a public dispute with Ten Hag, leading to his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund. Despite reaching the Champions League final with the German team, Sancho’s future remained uncertain until the recent developments.

Meanwhile, United confirmed that veteran defender Jonny Evans has signed a new one-year contract extension. The 36-year-old, who returned to United last year after spells at West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue representing the club.

Evans, a three-time Premier League winner with United, played a pivotal role in the team’s FA Cup triumph last season. The experienced defender is keen on challenging for more silverware in the upcoming campaign and contributing to the team’s success under the guidance of the coaching staff.
