JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars have bolstered their offensive line by signing center Robert Hainsey to a three-year contract worth $21 million, which includes $13 million guaranteed. The deal was reported by NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport on March 10, 2025.

Hainsey, a 26-year-old, was a third-round pick in 2021 and started at center for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2022 to 2023. However, after the Buccaneers drafted Graham Barton in 2024, Hainsey transitioned to a reserve role. Over his four seasons in the NFL, he has made 60 appearances and has been a starter for 35 games.

New Jaguars head coach Liam Coen previously served as the Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator in 2024, giving Hainsey familiarity with Coen’s offensive system. This connection is expected to assist Hainsey’s adaptation to Jacksonville’s strategies.

“It’s great to be back working with an offense I’m familiar with. I’m eager to contribute to the Jaguar’s success,” Hainsey stated. The Jaguars are aiming to improve their offensive performance, which will heavily rely on Hainsey’s integration into the lineup.

In addition to Hainsey, the Jaguars are also reportedly signing offensive tackle Patrick Mekari to enhance their offensive line. Mekari’s agreement, finalized on the same day, is also part of Jacksonville’s strategy to solidify protection ahead of the approaching season.

The new NFL league year begins on March 12, 2025, marking the official start of free agency, which has seen heightened activity across teams as they look to build stronger rosters. The Jaguars are proactively addressing their needs as they prepare to compete in the upcoming season.
