Jacksonville Jaguars Emmanuel Ogbah Signing News

Jacksonville, Florida — The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed veteran defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, aiming to enhance their pass-rushing depth. Ogbah, who played for the Miami Dolphins last season, has reached an agreement on a one-year deal worth up to $5 million, as confirmed by his agent Drew Rosenhaus.

This acquisition comes after the Jaguars expressed their desire to bolster their defensive front during the offseason. After the 2025 NFL Draft, General Manager James Gladstone indicated that the team would seek veteran talent in free agency, having only added one defensive prospect, Jalen McLeod, with their nine draft picks.

“The board always falls certain ways,” Gladstone explained after the draft. “You’re not going to reach because of what might be a perceived need. We’ll look towards the pro free agent landscape.”

Ogbah, 31, recorded five sacks last season and has a total of 10.5 sacks over the last two seasons. The Jaguars have struggled to find a reliable No. 3 edge rusher over the past few seasons. Ogbah’s versatility and experience are seen as crucial as the team adjusts to new management.

His familiarity with Jaguars’ defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell, who was on the staff in Miami during Ogbah’s tenure there, adds to the potential synergy on the field. Caldwell previously stated that adding experience to the defensive line was a priority for the upcoming season.

Fans are eager to see how Ogbah fits into the Jaguars’ plans as they prepare for the upcoming season. The signing indicates a strategic move to enhance both experience and depth on the defensive front.
