Jake Paul Boxing Match 2025

Los Angeles, CA — Jake Paul made headlines with his first-round TKO victory in his professional boxing debut against AnEsonGib on January 30, 2020. The event was part of the co-main event for the WBO world middleweight title bout between Demetrius Andrade and Luke Keeler.

Paul, a YouTube star turned boxer, faced off against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib, marking both of their first experiences in the boxing ring. From the start, it was clear neither competitor had substantial fighting experience, as they employed unorthodox stances and techniques, leading to multiple falls for Gib in the early rounds.

As the fight progressed, Paul showcased his power, pushing Gib back with strong jabs. By the end of the first round, it was evident that Gib was struggling to compete, having been knocked down several times. The bout concluded when Paul landed a right hook after several missed attempts, prompting the referee to stop the fight and declare Paul the winner.

Despite his TKO victory, Paul expressed frustration in a post-fight interview, admitting that he struggled to execute the game plan provided by his trainer, “Sugar” Shane Mosley. “I didn’t even really get to show my skill. I didn’t land any of my really hard punches—most were just grazing shots,” Paul stated.

The goal was to use his power punches to secure a victory, but Paul’s success came primarily from his jabs. His performance raised questions about his ability to consistently implement strategies in future matches.

With his next fight scheduled for June 28, Paul is focused on refining his technique and delivering a more polished performance. The upcoming bout will be crucial for him to solidify his reputation in the boxing world.
