Jalen Green Houston Rockets Social Media Deactivation

HOUSTON, Texas — Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green announced he is deactivating his social media accounts in preparation for the 2025 NBA Playoffs. The 23-year-old player posted a message expressing his desire to focus on basketball while cautioning fans to ‘leave my girl out of it,’ referring to his girlfriend, model and influencer Draya Michele, who is 40 years old.

Green’s Instagram Story, which gained attention on social media platform X, sparked conversations due to the couple’s 17-year age difference. They reportedly began dating in the summer of 2023 and welcomed a daughter together in May of the same year. Green has not disclosed further details about the message’s context but appears to be steering clear of distractions.

“This is what I’ve dreamed about since I got in the league,” Green told the Houston Chronicle, reflecting on the significance of the upcoming playoffs. “Really, since I was young. But just last year, seeing the vision, this is what I’ve been dreaming about. So everything’s been a lot more serious.”

The Rockets will kick off their postseason against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, with Game 1 scheduled in Houston. Green, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and the team’s leading scorer this season at 21.0 points per game, is determined to make an impact after helping Houston end its playoff drought since the 2018-19 season.

While the Rockets may present a formidable challenge for the Warriors, their lack of playoff experience could be a disadvantage. Only two players in Houston’s starting lineup, Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks, have postseason experience. In contrast, the Warriors boast veterans Steph Curry and Draymond Green, who have secured four NBA championships together.

The couple’s relationship has garnered attention due to its unique dynamics, including Michele’s past relationships with other high-profile individuals. Michele, who gained fame as a cast member of “Basketball Wives LA,” has a son, Kniko, 22, and another son, Jrue, 9, from a previous relationship. Despite online scrutiny, Green and Michele have maintained a close bond.

Green’s commitment to basketball is evident, as he seeks to excel in the playoffs while managing personal matters with care. With the first game just days away, fans are eager to see how the Rockets will perform in this high-stakes environment.
