Jalen Milroe Alabama Pro Day

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Jalen Milroe, a standout quarterback from the University of Alabama, met with Pittsburgh Steelers executives on Tuesday ahead of his performance at Alabama’s Pro Day scheduled for Wednesday. The meeting featured Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin, General Manager Omar Khan, and quarterbacks coach Tom Arth, as reported by NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.

The Steelers are in need of a quarterback, with only Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson currently under contract for the upcoming season. As the clock ticks down to the NFL Draft on April 24, teams are closely monitoring Milroe’s potential as a draft pick.

“We’re reviewing all options,” Tomlin stated, hinting at the organization’s ongoing evaluations of quarterback prospects. With four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers still undecided about his future, including interest in Pittsburgh, the Steelers have a crucial decision ahead.

Milroe, who put up impressive stats during his college tenure—totaling 2,844 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, along with another 726 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns—has shown glimpses of his potential. He finished his time as a starter with a record of 21-6, though this past season he faced challenges, securing a 9-4 record against teams like Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Michigan.

As the 21st overall pick in the upcoming draft, the Steelers may look to fill their quarterback position with Milroe or other prospects, potentially reshaping the team’s future.

Veteran defensive lineman Cam Heyward weighed in on the ongoing quarterback discussions, stating, “Either you want to be a Pittsburgh Steeler…” hinting at the expectations surrounding potential candidates.

With a hectic lead-up to the draft, Milroe’s performance at Pro Day, combined with his interactions with the Steelers’ leadership, will be pivotal in determining his future within the NFL.
