Jared McCain Leads the Pack in 2024-25 NBA Rookie of the Year Odds
The latest odds for the 2024-25 NBA Rookie of the Year award have been updated, and Jared McCain of the Philadelphia 76ers has emerged as the clear favorite. McCain’s odds to win the award have significantly improved, now standing at +150 on FanDuel, which translates to an implied win probability of 40.0%.
McCain, who was selected by the 76ers with the No. 16 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, has made a strong impression early in the season. His odds have plummeted from an initial +5000, reflecting his impressive performance on the court. As of November, 2.3% of all bets and 4.3% of the handle are on McCain to win the Rookie of the Year award.
Following closely behind McCain are Zaccharie Risacher of the Atlanta Hawks and Carlton Carrington of the Washington Wizards. Risacher’s odds are +450 at DraftKings, giving him an implied probability of 18.2%, while Carrington’s odds are +700 at FanDuel, translating to a 12.5% chance of winning the award.
Zach Edey, the center for the Memphis Grizzlies, also remains a strong contender with odds of +1000 at DraftKings. Edey, despite an ankle injury that kept him out of Summer League games, is expected to see significant playing time due to the Grizzlies’ need for size and his defensive skills.
Other notable rookies in the running include Dalton Knecht of the Los Angeles Lakers with odds of +1200 at FanDuel, Alexandre Sarr of the Washington Wizards at +1700, and Stephon Castle of the San Antonio Spurs also at +1700.
The competition for the NBA Rookie of the Year award is intense, with several other rookies also in contention. However, as of now, Jared McCain’s strong start to the season has him firmly at the top of the odds charts.
