Jarred Vanderbilt Returns, Sparks Lakers in Crucial Win Over Hornets

Redick highlighted Vanderbilt’s ability to create extra possessions through offensive rebounds and drawing fouls, noting that his contributions were crucial during a stretch where the Lakers struggled to score. “The play where he got the steal, I believe it was 94-88, I had called the timeout after Okogie got the and-one to get it to 88,” Redick explained. “Vando gets that steal to put us up eight, and it was kind of like, oh, that was huge.”
Vanderbilt’s return comes after a lengthy recovery from offseason foot surgeries, marking nearly a year since he last played. “It means everything to finally be back on the court,” Vanderbilt said. “I’m thankful for the support and patience from the Lakers organization.”
While Vanderbilt sat out Tuesday’s game as part of a back-to-back, his limited minutes on Monday offered a glimpse of what he brings to the team.
