Ted Lasso Season 4 Jason Sudeikis Announcement

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Jason Sudeikis announced on March 14, 2025, that the much-anticipated fourth season of the hit Apple TV+ series, “Ted Lasso,” is officially in the works. During a podcast appearance, Sudeikis revealed that they are currently writing the new installment, confirming that fans can expect more of the beloved character.

“That’s the official word,” Sudeikis told podcast hosts Jason and Travis Kelce. He also provided a sneak peek into the plot, mentioning, “Ted’s coaching a women’s team, so there, that’s it.” When asked if Ted would be returning to the United States, Sudeikis humorously deflected, stating, “That’s too many questions,” and added that he wasn’t sure about that detail just yet.

Speculation about season 4 had been circulating since it’s been two years since the finale of season 3. While details have been scarce, the announcement sets fans at ease, confirming that the series is rejuvenated after the previous season wrapped up on a dramatic note. Last August, news that the show was secured for another season further fueled excitement.

Nathan Shelley, a cast member known for his portrayal in the series, hinted at the possibility in a November interview with Radio Times. He noted that there were “rumblings” among the cast regarding a fourth season, saying, “I think it all depends on what Jason Sudeikis wants to do. Everyone has said if there’s an idea that feels good, we would be all up for it. I would personally go back in a heartbeat!”

While the casting details remain unconfirmed, Sudeikis’ return is expected as he is central to the show’s success. His involvement was previously emphasized by series co-creator Bill Lawrence, who stated that the future of the series ties closely with Sudeikis’s commitment.

“As fans, we’d all kill if it was going again. But everybody would say the same thing: whatever Jason feels like doing and whatever his decision is, we’re all down with it,” Lawrence told Collider. He noted the complexities involved for Sudeikis, particularly as he balances family commitments and his role as a lead writer.

As viewers await further information about the new season, previous seasons of “Ted Lasso” remain available for streaming on Apple TV+, allowing fans to relive the journey of Ted and his team.
