Jazz Facing Injuries as Martin Returns for Grizzlies Matchup

Salt Lake City, Utah — The Utah Jazz is preparing for their matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, with key player Nickeil Alexander-Walker cleared to play after recovering from an elbow injury.
Alexander-Walker had previously missed time but returned to action on Sunday, where he demonstrated his readiness by participating in the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He carries no injury designation going into the contest against the Grizzlies, an important factor for a team facing roster challenges.
Jazz head coach Will Hardy shared insights on Alexander-Walker’s return, stating, “Nickeil is crucial for our rotation, especially now with several players out. His ability to score and defend will be vital against Memphis.”
In addition to Alexander-Walker’s return, the Jazz will contend with significant absences. Lauri Markkanen and John Collins are both sidelined due to illness and ankle issues, respectively. Alongside them, Micah Potter, Oscar Tshiebwe, and Elijah Harkless will also be out for the game against the Grizzlies.
The team’s struggles have been compounded by a number of injuries, but Alexander-Walker’s return provides a much-needed boost. Fantasy analysts suggest he will likely see increased minutes due to the absence of Markkanen and Collins.
Jordan Clarkson’s status is questionable for the game following recent health and safety protocols. With multiple players missing, every game becomes a test of depth for the Jazz as they aim to remain competitive in the Western Conference.
As the Jazz prepare to face the Grizzlies, coach Hardy emphasized the importance of remaining resilient. “Injuries are part of the game, and we have to adapt. We believe in our bench and the players stepping up to fill the gaps.”
