New York Jets Nfl Draft Prospects

NEW YORK, N.Y. — As the NFL’s offseason transitions toward the 2025 Draft, the New York Jets are strategizing to bolster their roster after a lackluster free-agent signing period. Despite acquiring only three players with contracts exceeding the league minimum, the Jets aim to fill critical gaps, particularly at offensive tackle and skill positions.

With the draft just weeks away, the Jets find themselves in a pivotal position to select impactful talent. The upcoming 2025 NFL Draft is set for April 24 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the Jets hold a potentially groundbreaking seventh overall pick.

This second mock draft iteration suggests that the Jets might select offensive tackle Blessing Membou, a strong candidate who could fill the right tackle position that has been a longstanding issue for the franchise. Membou’s athleticism and performance—without allowing a single sack in 411 pass-blocking snaps last season—underscore his potential to solidify the Jets’ offensive line. “Membou feels like the best long-term play because of his ceiling,” stated draft analyst Jake Fisher.

In addressing their receiving corps, which has struggled alongside standout receiver Garrett Wilson, the Jets are considering tight end Mason Taylor and wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan as valuable additions. Both prospects could help elevate the offensive output, especially with the added pressure of supporting newly signed quarterback Justin Fields. “Simply put, the Jets need to come away from the first two rounds with at least one pass-catcher,” Fisher remarked.

Taylor, a versatile move tight end, is viewed as an immediate contributor. He boasts a superior drop rate and has garnered attention as a favorite option in this year’s draft due to his ability to block and catch effectively. “His ceiling is higher than any tight end the Jets have employed in a while,” noted NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah.

On the defensive side, players like edge rusher Collins and linebacker Jalon Walker are also on the Jets’ radar. With emerging players like Quinnen Williams requiring support on the defensive line, Collins’ size and potential as a run stopper could appeal to the Jets’ needs. Additionally, the team is likely to secure a wide receiver in later rounds, as the history of uncovering talent like Amon-Ra St. Brown demonstrates the depth available.

Defensive back prospects are also critical for the Jets, specifically safety Cameron Bowman, who has shown playmaking potential with multiple interceptions and fumble recoveries over the past two seasons. “The Jets could stand to add some talent at safety,” said analyst Sean Lewis, emphasizing the team’s reliance on developing young talent.

The Jets’ linebacker corps poses another challenge, as Quincy Williams enters the final year of his contract. Penn State’s King is considered a candidate who could bring toughness and physicality to a need area, according to NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein.

Moreover, the Jets are in search of depth on the offensive line. Although they signed Josh Myers, the potential addition of Fairchild, who had a strong showing as a pass blocker, would help solidify the interior line for the upcoming season while alleviating concerns with contracts ending soon.

Finally, adding another running back to the roster is critical in the event of injuries. FBS standout LeQuint Allen led in receptions among running backs and could complement the Jets’ current options effectively. With a diverse skill set, he would cater to both rushing and receiving needs.

As the 2025 NFL Draft draws closer, the choices made by the Jets will be crucial in addressing their roster holes and setting the foundation for a successful upcoming season.
