Jonathan Allen Pectoral Injury

Washington Commanders defensive tackle Jonathan Allen has been ruled out for the remainder of the game against the Baltimore Ravens due to a pectoral injury. The injury occurred in the fourth quarter, and Allen did not return to the field.

The severity of the injury is significant, with sources indicating that Allen is feared to have suffered an injury that will require season-ending surgery. This would be a major blow to the Commanders, as Allen is a key player in their defense and a two-time Pro Bowl selection.

During the game, the Commanders also lost starting defensive end Dorance Armstrong due to a rib injury. Despite these setbacks, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels had a notable performance, completing 269 passing yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, along with 22 rushing yards.

The loss of Allen is particularly significant as the Commanders faced one of the top teams in the AFC, the Ravens. Baltimore managed to score on four consecutive drives while Allen was on the field, and the Commanders’ chances of victory diminished after his exit.

In Allen’s absence, the team is likely to rely more heavily on rookie defensive tackle Johnny Newton, who was drafted in the second round and has seen an increase in playing time as the season has progressed.

The Commanders ultimately lost the game to the Ravens with a score of 30-23, bringing their record to 4-2. They will prepare to face the Carolina Panthers next Sunday.
