Jordan Leavitt Eager for UFC Comeback After Long Break

Las Vegas, Nevada – After nearly two years on the sidelines, UFC fighter Jordan Leavitt is set to return to the Octagon at UFC Fight Night: Blanchfield vs. Barber this Saturday. Leavitt, who last fought in November 2023, expressed excitement about stepping back into the ring against Kurt Holobaugh.
In a recent interview, Leavitt addressed his long absence from competition, attributing it to a mix of personal milestones and unfortunate events. ‘A series of unfortunate events, I guess,’ he said. ‘Not all unfortunate. My youngest daughter was born, so then I was at home helping out with that, primarily, and then just bad luck. Fights fall through, injuries happened.’ Despite these hurdles, he emphasized that he remained ready to compete.
Saturday’s match at the APEX represents a ‘home game’ for the Las Vegas resident. Leavitt has utilized his break productively, reading about 88 books since his last bout. ‘This is the first time I’ve taken more than a year between fights,’ he noted. ‘I’ve still been training, and I’ve still been getting better every day.’ His time away helped him discover different aspects of himself outside of being a fighter.
‘I’ve had a lot of time to completely rejuvenate myself and to refocus and to recenter,’ Leavitt said. He also mentioned that his training environment and health have significantly improved, making him eager to return to the Octagon for a fight ‘just for the fight’s sake.’
Leavitt’s upcoming bout marks his eighth UFC fight since his debut in Dana White’s Contender Series in 2020. With a current record of 4-3 in the Octagon, he remains a promising prospect in the lightweight division. He shared his enthusiasm about returning, saying, ‘I missed the uncertainty… and I’m just excited to go on this journey to have this cagefight.’
UFC Fight Night: Blanchfield vs. Barber will take place on May 31, with prelims starting at 6 p.m. ET and the main card at 9 p.m. ET. Fans are looking forward to Leavitt’s much-anticipated comeback.
