Jordan Spieth Memorial Tournament Performance

Dublin, Ohio — Jordan Spieth is feeling optimistic as he approaches the final round of the 2025 Memorial Tournament. After three days of competitive golf at Muirfield Village, Spieth acknowledges his challenges but remains hopeful for a strong finish tomorrow.

Spieth, a three-time major champion, finds himself five shots behind defending champion Scottie Scheffler, who leads at 8-under. Spieth shot an even-par 72 during his third round, resulting in a 3-under total for the tournament. He remarked on his competitor, saying, “You can’t count on him shooting even tomorrow, so it would take something special.”

Despite his recent struggles, Spieth indicates this tournament marks a significant improvement from a difficult 2024 season and his ongoing recovery from wrist surgery. “It just felt like it was close to really good,” Spieth commented on his game after the round. He pointed out the difference in his swing and game strategy compared to earlier in his comeback.

This week, Spieth’s performance has been notable; he gained strokes in approach shots, off the tee, and around the green, ranking well compared to his season averages. However, he struggles with putting, currently losing strokes on the greens. Upon reflecting on his consistency, Spieth aims to maintain focus despite the competition, declaring, “I know if I’m able to play consistent golf on a course like this, then I’m heading in the right direction.”

As he prepares for Sunday, Spieth expresses a seven out of ten confidence level, the highest since his surgery. He anticipates bringing his best to the final round and is aware of the hard work ahead to regain his peak form. “I know how to get it to a 10; it’s just more work,” he stated, indicating his dedication to improving his game.
