Jude Bellingham Shoulder Surgery Real Madrid

Madrid, Spain — Jude Bellingham, the talented 21-year-old midfielder for Real Madrid, is set to undergo shoulder surgery after the 2025 Club World Cup. This surgery comes after months of managing a dislocated left shoulder, which originally occurred in November 2023 during a match against Rayo Vallecano.

Bellingham completed that match but was forced to miss the next four games for both club and country. Since then, he has been using shoulder protection while playing. Sources close to Bellingham said that both he and the club recognized that surgery was necessary to ensure proper healing and to prevent further dislocation.

Real Madrid plans for Bellingham to have the surgery shortly after the Club World Cup, which is scheduled from June 15 to July 13. Medical specialists suggest he will need about 12 weeks for recovery, meaning he would miss the start of the 2025-26 La Liga season.

Despite his injury, Bellingham has made a significant impact this season, achieving 51 appearances with 14 goals and 14 assists. His performance helped Madrid win both the La Liga title and the Champions League in his debut season, contributing to a total of 23 goals in 43 appearances last year.

The midfielder’s commitment to the team was evident when he chose to play on despite his persistent injury over the past two campaigns. With new head coach Xabi Alonso preparing for the next season, Bellingham’s absence could affect early plans for the squad.

While the surgery is inevitable, Bellingham and the club are optimistic about his recovery, believing he will return stronger and ready to contribute to Madrid’s success upon his return.
