Julian Champagnie Cleared to Play Friday Against Warriors
San Antonio, Texas – Julian Champagnie is set to play in Friday’s game against the Golden State Warriors after recovering from a right hip contusion, according to Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio.
Champagnie, who was initially added to the injury report on Thursday, has been upgraded to available and is expected to fulfill his normal role in the lineup. This season, he has been an important contributor for the San Antonio Spurs, averaging 9.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.3 steals in 28.0 minutes over 11 games, including eight starts.
The young forward’s performance has become critical for the Spurs as they compete in the NBA season. If for any reason he had been unable to play, Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, and Lindy Waters would have had to step up to fill the gap.
Champagnie’s injury scare comes at a vital time as the Spurs aim to enhance their standing in the league. Fans are eager to see him join the team on the court tonight against the Warriors.
